Dagunduro is a monthly Yoruba Christian program organized by Harvest Point Ministry (HPM) to promote the use of Yoruba language in the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in United States of America. With the headquarters in Houston, Texas, HPM has, since 2009 used the platform of Dagunduro to invite notable Yoruba speaking Pastors and Christian Artists for the monthly program. This provides opportunity to portray the Yoruba culture in positive way, reach out to the old and young ones of Yoruba stock, encouraging them to stay away from destructive habits like drugs, alcoholism, prostitution, fraud with several other vices and embrace the gospel that can enhance their peaceful cohabitations with others in the society.
Inaugurated in December 2009, Dagunduro, a multi-denominational gathering of prayer loving people is firmly rooted in Houston, Texas and Raleigh in North Carolina with a concrete 2012 plan to spread to Chicago, Kentucky, Maryland. Dagunduro in conjunction with the parent body, Harvest Point Ministry is actively involved in rural missionary efforts in Africa through the delivery of theological trainings to the pastors and other church leaders in the Yoruba speaking rural areas of Africa with particular focus on Nigeria using the International School of Ministry approved curriculum. A scholarship award in honor of the memory of Bishop Ajayi Crowder who translated Bible from English to Yoruba language for some American university Yoruba students is also an initiative of Dagunduro and it is expected to commence in 2012.
From 2013, Dagunduro will start a program tagged 'King's Square' - Ojude-Oba in partnership with an existing program initiated by the Royal House of Ipetu-Ile in Osun State of Nigeria called 'Christ Carnival' where a multi-media packaged cinema of "The Life of Christ" will be shown across rural areas of all Yoruba speaking people in Nigeria. This will take the shape of festivals where people will feast and watch their Savior speak in the language they are familiar with. The parent body, HPM will take the same cinema of "The Life of Christ" in other languages other than Yoruba to other parts of Nigeria and more African countries. Dagunduro is the success story of the commitments of willing volunteers called partners who have released their time and resources for God's use without looking back. Pastor Henry Odeneye whose calling is centered on in-depth and practical teaching of the word of God is the founder and facilitator with the supports of some Christian leaders as Board of Advisers. .
